LAUF BOOST | Russ Welch https://russwelch.wordpress.com/2016/04/28/lauf-boost/A little off topic but as there is some interest in TD kit. That review is for the slightly older TR29 fork. This one I have done is for this years improved Boost version which is what Josh appears to be running.

Custom officials must be going nuts with all the racers lining up to get through. Looks like a steady stream.

Looks like we've had at least one bluff charge from a juvi bear. And Josh Kato was run off the road by a truck headed up the back of Red Meadow Pass. So his knee is a little tweaked but he seems to be doing good since then.

Mike Hall has entered Ovando MT a while ago. And he was SMILING! Stopping off for his first hot meat since Columbia Falls so was running on empty when he got here. Along with only a few hours sleep in a soggy bag. Must be raining up north.
Happy to report no visual sign of motorized equipment on his bike. :-)
Will get more photos to post. Carry on.

And he's outta here. A much more relaxed Mike Hall has left the building enroute to Lincoln for another food top off, then Helena for another top off, then off to see how far he can go. His ambition this year: How fast can he personally accomplish this.
He was sorry to hear about Josh's near miss. And Josh if you read this he hopes you're still riding good. Mike said he too saw a juvie bear further up north but had no problems with it.
After a bit of chit chat and checking everybody's status on Livetracker he packed up and left. But not after wanting to make a shout out to Anna who is following his endeavor and to PEDAL ED.
Awaiting Josh Kato! Carry On.

Wow! 8 riders are in front of Josh's record time from last year.....but only 12 are in front of the 20 Day marker. (Scott, is the 20 day marker an algorithym or is it based on a previous racer? If so, whom?)
I wonder if those behind the 20d flag will ride into a sub 20d finish? Has there been much rain toward the back of the pack because from the photos the leaders look like they are enjoying pretty decent weather.

Here are a couple of photos I took at the YWCA in Banff: my husband, Dean Anderson, pointing at his trusty singlespeed and a Grand Depart group photo with Crazy Larry.

Josh Kato has arrived and left Ovando MT and is in good spirits, nah I'd say GREAT spirits considering his incident up north. He is favoring his left leg quite a bit and is in moderate pain. Picked up a bunch of Alleve along with candy bars and juices to pick up the pace behind Mr. Hall, the TDR Prince of Wales. He is still in shock over the truck incident and still has a hard time wrapping his head around the fact the driver was aiming at him. Hoping the guy was just reaching for a cell phone and wasn't looking since his bright orange helmet is hard to miss.
But on the good news side, he looks happy and healthy; got 4 hours of sleep last night, didn't have any bear issues, did experience a full day of rain but can't remember if it was yesterday or Friday cuz they are all running together.
Going to stick around a few more hours for Liam but then have to get home to watch my Stanley Cup Finals Game 6.
Carry On and Go Sharks!
