I've been worried about Josh too. His spot might have an issue though.

Tell your kids to be very proud. Their Dad is doing great. Excellent spirits and just keeps going like a energizer bunny biker.
They cheered when they saw his picture. Keep up the great work!

#TourDivide16 Mike Enfield called in from Eureka again. He’s feeling ill and is taking the day to recoup! http://mtbcast.com/site2/category/td16/

I have been reading all the stuff about a Guy Martin. I do know it is not Greg May, as photo to be posted soon will verify. HOWEVER.... there was an interesting man in Ovando yesterday who left around 6 pm. Longish brown hair, beard, average height, lanky, wearing dark glasses and a straw hat [the hat is what got my attention] riding a yellow bike. Not on trackleaders. Didn't get a name. Didn't stick around long and didn't get anything to eat.
Just throwing more fodder into the fire. :-)
Carry on.
p.s. just talked to the neighbors whose dogs he was talking to and she said definite English accents. So there ya go. Start the rumors!

HA! he was a bit of a mess. That was my first thought. Or as the neighbor said "that really hairy guy?"

Seb had a slight cold that turned really nasty and Rob got attacked by a dog. He has some really bad looking wounds on his lower legs. From last year, I remember Team Rice Burner's "dog strategy" was simply to ride super slow until the mutt lost interest. Other than the natural response to try and outrun the dog, or wasting bear spray on it, what can a rider do?

That's not wasting, its exactly what bear spray is for, preventing an animal from attacking you.

Did he look like this... and if not on Trackleaders, than maybe not "Terry Smith" either http://trackleaders.com/tourdivide16I have been reading all the stuff about a Guy Martin. Yellow bike - check brown long hair - check put on a beard, sunglasses and a straw hat and the resemblance is significant. Not saying it is him, could be a doppelganger. :-)

Josh got run off the road on day 2 and injured his left leg. Not saying that is the issue but he was far from perfect when he left Ovando.

I wonder why he decided not to set up a tracker? He obviously is going fast enough if he started on Friday. Sorry If I missed anything earlier in the thread , I am just catching up with divide News.

Yeah, I know. Hence the concern. He's a great guy.

Hopefully Josh Kato just has a spot issue.....be a shame to see him stalled or out of the race. Guy Martin is probably getting more attention by being anonymous than by broadcasting his location on trackleaders. It seems like the guys at the front of the race are the real celebrities, although anyone who keeps turning the pedals is amazing.

Maybe some folks in Helena can get some recon photos of the "yellow bike/ straw hat guy" when he passes by today.

Thank you Angler for the encouraging words for Arthur. He s trying to get to Helena today, hopefully he s not in excruciating pain with his knee Thanks again for all the amazing updates for all of us watching from afar. X 3 pm and Dave Stowe of Ontario Canada arrived with a big smile and went to Trixi's for food. He is feeling well, only mechanical was a bad back tire.
A friend called Ovando to inform us that tomorrow is Dave's 52nd birthday. So anybody that sees him then: Wish him the best.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVE STOWE!
Also another photo of Pavel and Arthur: Love seeing new friends who rode together for a while, meeting up again.
And yet again Arthur has attempted to leave Ovando on a bum knee to Lincoln and had to turn around with 15 minutes. It wasn't going to work. Hoping for tomorrow morning to get the swelling down. Think good thoughts. This is killing him. And us, to be honest. Hate to see it.
A bunch coming in shortly but I have to go so photos will be posted tomorrow for them and tonight for Dean Anderson of Canada and Thomas Rowntree of Scotland who are on their way to Lincoln.
Carry On!
p.s. weather is changing. Highs 20 degrees cooler into the 50's and rain forecasted starting later tomorrow for the next 3-4 days. It's brutal out there.
