Judging by the pace of the guys heading from Bannack to Lima, the trail must be a real mudfest or something - Luke Bodowes covered just 45 miles in 9 hours. I was very glad it was dry last year.

There may well be lots of mud after yesterday but they've also been taking gusty 25-30 km/hr (15-20 mph) winds right on the chin. It has been blowing from the S all day so far and will shift slightly to the SSW as the day goes on.

Plesko about to drop down out-of or off-of Union Pass, hopefully he doesn't get too spun out across the GB. Sure, some climbs here and there, but them's some long straight and flat sections before 'climbing out' into CO. Keep it spinnin'!

Drove through Polaris in my way do some fishing today. STIFF winds and swirling rain storms. Looks like a hard day to be near the Bannack area on a bike

Dean called from Lima and said he's had an interesting last couple of days. Last night, he and Tom Rowntree found an awning to camp under in Bannack. There was a downpour with sheets of rain and gale force winds. Getting out of Bannack this morning, it was pure mud. They used sticks to clean off their mud-seized tires and had headwinds almost the entire way. In the canyon, the wind was so strong it almost blew him over. When they reached a pass and thought they were home free, there was the wind. He almost broke a pedal at the pass but caught in time. They walked a lot and shouted at a lot of cows blocking the road. There was a section where he could ride that nobody else could. Jose Bermudez asked him, “How are you able to ride though this?” Could be the singlespeed.

Out near the course snapping a few photos. Trying to remain incognito to not interfere with riders experience on the TD. Sometimes though you just can't be as stealth as you'd like. Everyone out there is a rock star!

#TourDivide16 Dave Scheiner and Dieter Borsutzky called in from Holland Lake Lodge! Sounds like he’s a day behind in his thinking as it’s Thursday, not Wednesday! Randy Neill called in from Ferndale! Tim Glover called in from Helena! And Michael Devitt called in from Butte! http://mtbcast.com/site2/category/td16/No true ups tonight as I have some work to do. Maybe I can push them out in the morning!

Dylan Gonda has the first full suspension bike I've seen this year...I wonder how he likes it.
