A couple more white dots came into Ovando MT including Tony Kendall from Washington age 69 on a single speed! He is having difficulty with the gears and is yet another who came out with an underestimated idea on how difficult this can be.
The additional folks with Tom and Nick Wagers of MI are what we call Rogue Riders from France doing the route on their own.
Also in was Andrew Simmons of BC Canada.
Lastly is a photo of a posting I found on the Board this morning. Thought it apropos to post.
Carry On!

Dean Anderson thinks a glove he found on the trail might belong to Luke Bodewes, if Luke was wondering where it went.

No one has mentioned it but it looks like the golden spike was driven in Salida this morning.
A lot further south than ever before. Does anyone know much about the Northbound riders this year? I have seen no mention of them at all on the forum.

Angler, thanks for the pic of Rick May. Rick was my companion on the GD in 2012, together with Ashley Benns, who is today heading for Pinedale. Rick had a malfunctioning GPS, which made him go off-route many times, and a broken pedal. He had to wait 2 days near Swan Lake for new pedals. I am glad that he is still smiling and holding the paper maps firmly in his hands.
I remembered Rick from previous TDR therefore it was great to see him again. And I quote: "I'll be back". He isn't happy with how this one is turning out and wants to end it on a good note. Great guy.

And on a related note: Trans Am - packleaders.
Lael Wilcox is in second place, 2 miles behind Stefen Streich as they pass the 3,600 mile mark! Evan Deutsch is third, 6 miles behind Lael.
Take a look under Trackleaders Trans Am 2016 tracking.
Go for it Lael !

And once the Race is over, you won't remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won't even be sure whether the Race is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the Race, you won't be the same person who rode in. That's what the Race is all about.

Looks like Mike hall will be riding past my cousins house in del Norte today. I wished I was there to cheer him on. These riders are inspiring me to new levels.

Photos from Montana High Country Lodge near Polaris, MT (800. miles on the spot trackers)! Segundo is sitting on the porch watching for the Fed-X or UPS truck to deliver parts from Amazon. He will be rested and ready to stomp down some miles once his bike is fixed.

Might be a little early to speculate finishing times but Josh took exactly 4 days from Del Norte last year, Jay 4 days and 4 hours. Assuming and hoping all goes as it has could we see a 13d 2?h finish from Mike?
And Chris continuing to crush it on the single! Giv'er! Suerte everyone out there!

Will Mike try for the free breakfast at the Lost Miner's Cafe in Plataro? Many have tried -- many have failed.
