I doubt it. Thought about it, but since I started azt one day late, I missed the gd and thus am not technically qualified for the triple crown. Still, if I am not too destroyed after tdr, ctr would be "fun"...By the way, nice ss run on the aztr!
Thanks! same to you on the reverse run, so gnarly doing the Canyon at the start of that ride. It was awesome running into you near Jakes Corner, boosted my mood for the next few hours towards Payson. I'm excited for a great dot watching season this year. Really stoked to have a bunch of friends racing all the big ones. Get after it Aaron!

Hey there all, any word on an updated GPX file for this years route?
I'm not racing or anything this year but I am taking a couple of friends along to ride it in July and am looking at route variations. Knowing what it is this year would be nice.

Oh man! How much of that is really going to melt in a month or so...wow Hard to believe when you compare that to the fact that Conifer Mtn has received its lowest snowfall in 25 years

Is Gold Dust a black diamond trail?
Noooooooooo. It's a very fun, swooopy, banked, directional trail. That blue diamond is sometimes put on trails used for snowshoeing? See how it's higher than the sign itself? That's so you can find it, when the snowpack is high. Oh man! How much of that is really going to melt in a month or so...wow

In a month? It'll melt out, fine. Snow level is actually much lower than usual. It's amazing to me that they've plowed it, already. In some years, they wait till June! So I'd say, we're a couple of a weeks closer to melt out then usual. I think the Northern part of Colorado is going to be great riding.

Hi, I am from Sweden. Preparing for my first Tour Divide. What about bringing food in to US from Canada? Will they let me in to the US with a lot of food on my bike?

Prepared, packaged foods are no problem. Fresh fruits and vegetables may cause a problem but are unlikely to be on your menu! In any case they would simply confiscate the offending items and let you through.

Hi everyone, also my first time, so have some noob questions..
I have sent an email to the address mentioned at tourdivide.org, but go no answer yet, should i be worried, or is that just normal?
And do i need to get a pass for the National parks on the route? Can you get those on the way, or better to arrange beforehand?
Thanks!

Wow! That's pretty impressive. My wife and drove past Hopewell Lake and down to Rd 133 on US 64 a couple of weeks back on our way to Taos. Rd 133 was clean as far as we could see, and while there was snow on the route up at Hopewell, it was maybe 6-7" deep. Shouldn't be a problem next month.

Silence is to be expected. News will come in the next couple of weeks. NOBO riders will need to pay for entry to the Tetons (I think, or maybe Yellowstone) but there are no fee booths SOBO. At any rate, you could pay at the gate.

Yeah you know that part in Fight Club, where you gotta stand on the front porch for a while until the let you in? It's like that, but without the obscenities thrown at you. You see, what's gonna happen is-
oops sorry rule #1.

For Teton Park: "Effective June 1, 2018 - The entrance fees will increase to $20 for each visitor entering by bicycle."
As Bob says, pay at the entrance. So $20 for a bike ride on the highway. Sure...

And once the Race is over, you won't remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won't even be sure whether the Race is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the Race, you won't be the same person who rode in. That's what the Race is all about.

It's been awhile since my first TD. Anyone know where the link is to register our own SPOT for the race? I was looking on trackleaders, but couldn't find it.

If you sent a letter of intent you should get an email in a couple of weeks with sign-up info.

So I broke a crank brothers candy pedal on a ride last weekend. Pedal slid right off the spindle - gaskets and bearings all shot! I've literally run out of moula for this ride and am resorting to an old pair of shimano clipless pedals. I also have some straight egg beaters.
How much am I going to regret the shimano's when it gets muddy?

Uhuh yup. I've had that happen about a couple of times now, even during the Tour Divide. That photo shows me holding my pedal after it gave out in NM. Those things need to be maintained every 3k miles, or they just go to hell. The tiny roller bearings are just the worst. I've had them crap out on me on a different tour, too. Don't trust them anymore for long distance stuff. It's been almost 4 years since I moved on from Crank Brothers to Time. If you like Crank Brothers Candies, check out the Time ATAC XC. I've been riding the same pair for 4 years now.

You look exactly how I felt when mine broke on the Matukat road 50 miles from Bailey! I'll check out the Time pedals Anyone use the Xpedo M8 ti pedals? Is lightweight titanium a good idea for long rugged hauls like the Divide?
