Wow!  The live webcam shots from Cumbres Pass confirm that there is still significant patchy snow in the area.  It takes a mind of steel to slog for miles when you want to be riding.

Truth there.  No Koko during the Hall administration.  However no snow around here like that year.  Interestingggggg.

There was no snow in 2016 when Mike Hall set the record and he rode pretty much in front of the cold & wet system which hit most of us Day 1, 2 and 4.

I wonder how many other participants do a similar thing and bring whiskey or stop for beers or even smoke some pot to help out....

I know three ... one's even sponsored by a pot company!!

Similar conditions in 2015.  Other than some rain and snowflakes on day 1, the leaders had pretty much no snow and very little rain.  Great riding!!  The 2015 finish between Kato, Beltchenko, and Petervary was one for the ages.

Grand Depart NOBO 2019
This year we had 13 axles lined up on the fenceline for the Grand Depart.   All six have their complimentary Salsa stem caps that allow them to receive a couple slices of free pie.  Thank-you to the Salsa folks~!
From left to right we have Maxwell Southham,  Dan Thrush,  Graham Suffield,  Mike Jolly,  Rick hays and Byrce VanDeKop.
Thirteen axles you may ask  Huh??   Byrce is pulling a bobtail trailer.

Bugger Dave's listed as a Scratch ... not even a 'yo'...

Thanks for the pic's wedelmaster ... can't believe the weather these guys got!

This is Mike Jolly in the middle of some pre-race preparation.  A "Repeat Contender" of the Tour Divide.
