Just a brilliant race so far!
It seems Sofiane is maintaining a solid lead lead but at the cost of fewer pauses and much less sleep than Josh Kato. Josh has been hovering between 20-40 miles behind, but then easing off and last night he got an extra couple of hours of sleep without losing out.
Steve Halligan, Chris Seistrup and Nate Ginzton are riding really smart so far too. They may be up to 80-odd miles off Sofiane right now, but they may have enough in the tank for a solid overnight push. Really though, absolutely phenomenal racing going on, and just brilliant to see the dot of the late great Mike Hall on the map too.
Expect it will stay like this through the basin -- but Colorado will be critical. Fascinating!!

It's a real shame too the Trackleaders no longer has GoogleMap or GoogleSatalite views. It was miles better when it did. I know the reason is that Scott said it cost too much to pay the Google licence. I wonder what we'd have to pay to restore it
For the whole of TD... somewhere between $7k and $10k, maybe more since traffic is up this year. I wish those numbers were a joke. The prices went up more than 20 fold last summer, effectively pricing any tracking biz off google. The link to "show location on google maps" is as good as we can do. Scott M, is there a way of turning the "radar" layer on?
Sadly that went out with google, too. It was a KMZ layer. But there is a chance I can get 'windy' data onto our maps, which has a number of nice weather layers. Hoping to find some time for that in the next few days. Glad to see all the photos on here, Angler, and everyone's commentary. This is a good year.

I think I caught Sofiane as he passed the Togwotee Mountain Lodge just after 2pm MDT. Thanks much to their live webcam at https://www.togwoteelodge.com/webcam/

I should add I've watched this webcam on and off since 2015 (at that time it just did 1-minute refreshes)...first time I've caught a TD rider. About 20 minutes before he passed, 4 bike-packers rode through going the other direction. If they were riding the route as NOBOs, they may have been able to give a snow update for Brooks Lake and Union Pass.

Finally, the weather forecast on the Lodge website is calling for rain/snow showers tomorrow and Friday, with cool temps. https://www.togwoteelodge.com/discover/weather/

Sofiane's dots indicate there might be a bit of snow on the road to Brooks Lake, but hard to know for sure...and Josh's dots have been so inconsistent that it might be hard to determine...

#TD19 - Day 6: Josh Uhl called in earlier today from Butte, Peter Kraft called in from the High Country Lodge, and Josh Kato called in from Togwatee! http://mtbcast.com/site2/category/td19/Josh's call breaks up a little but I think his reference to getting emotional was regarding Mike Hall.

...and Josh's dots are tightly packed in the same place as Sofiane...I'm guessing there is snow on part of Brooks Lake. Sofiane is now heading up Union Pass...let's see what happens...

I was chatting about this with another pal dot watcher. Just to see what the race in 2015 looked like when JP, JK and NB fought it out, I ran a replay to this same point in the race. Give it a try. I'll just say this, I think JK is right where he wants to be at this point. Gonna be good!

yip agree, with his Josh's experience on the course. I think the current top 4 are all in the game at the moment, with Chris S making the big moves in the last day or so. Looks like Sofiane is walking up on Fish Lake Mtn.

Image's in the Day 6 report here: https://www.dotwatcher.cc/race/tour-divide-2019I think Sofiane has done his homework. It looks like his strategy was to get past Mike Hall then rest when Mike did. I wonder if Josh is reacting to what Sofiane is doing? They both have access to Trackleaders so can keep an eye on the MH dot as well as each other.
Sofi is just aiming for the win - he is surprised that he is currently ahead of Mike's record. what are men's and women's singlespeed records?
Women's actual single speed record is faster - see in Dotwatcher update. Alexandera is crushing it.

sofiane is on a roughly 12.5 day pace. I think he is much further ahead of Mike Hall's pace than it appears b/c sofiane had to do an extra 5 hours on koko, so while it looks like sofiane has made 5 hrs in 6 days on the record, he has really made 10 hrs in six days on the record.

Where did Randy Neill come from? He's sleeping over the road from Sofiane now but a day ago was up in Bigfork MT.

What is that picture on Dotwatcher Day 6? I hope it's not a volunteer crew clearing portions of the route for the racers!

I was thinking the same thing! Hopefully they have a different reason for clearing it.

That has to be a SPOT anomaly. Even if it's not, he'll be relegated for taking the road from Fernie to the US Border.

I remember seeing this pic a week or so ago - maybe on the TD Facebook page? - and as I recall it mentioned it being a troop of Boy Scouts clearing the Ashton-Flagg Rd

Some of you may have seen this poster that Nick Legan and Jason made during the NOBO Grand Depart. That time posted is from Antelope Wells to the Hachita Food Mart and Petrol. Graham Suffield from Cananda rode from AW to the Hachita Community Center in 2 hours and fifteen minutes. There was a small tail wind that morning.
