I did a forum search & didn't see this topic anywhere. I'd be interested to hear of any books published about the Tour Divide. I've real all the Cordillera series (or at least the first 4, I don't think there is a 5th one out yet), as well as Paul Howard's Eat, Sleep, Ride, and have just started Dividing the Great by John Metcalfe, but that is the last Tour Divide related book I know of. I'm assuming there are more out there. Does anyone know of any? Or if this has been discussed before, would someone be kind enough to point me to the discussion. I did a forum search of "Tour Divide Books" but it didn't bring back what I was looking for.

Also, I'm looking for books (or ebooks, not websites or blogs) as I'm looking for stuff to read when I'm not online.

"Be Brave, Be Strong" by Jill Homer was an excellent read, highly recommended. Available on amazon http://www.amazon.com/Be-Brave-Strong-Journey-Across/dp/1463533136/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1384979610&sr=8-1&keywords=be+brave+be+strong.

Also, a guidebook by Michael McCoy, full of information. Also on amazon http://www.amazon.com/Cycling-Great-Divide-Michael-McCoy/dp/1594858195/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1384979808&sr=8-10&keywords=michael+mccoy

Which would you recommend of the ones you've read so far?

Eat, Sleep, Ride was my favorite so far. I loved the author's sense of humor. The cordillera's were all pretty good, but since each story is submitted by a different rider, the quality varies quite a bit. I liked them all & would recommend any of them, but I think of those, the first one was my favorite. I haven't read enough of Dividing the Great to say one way or the other yet.

Check out the Cordillera:

http://www.lulu.com/shop/search.ep?keyWords=Cordillera&type=

Each year we do a book on the race with stories from a range of riders (including Scott T. who does the covers!). Volume 6 should be published before Thanksgiving.
