I concur with the two posts on the 15th that miss the forum write ups describing events that unfold on the race. I followed for many years after 2009. I also don't use personal social media often for good business reasons. Where is most discussion occurring these days for the TD??

Some conversation on Facebook, but not nearly as much as in the past. Unless I'm missing a group section over there.... Try these links, they shouldn't require an account. Top 9 photos at the top, below that is the most recent photos using the hashtags. From there you should be able to click onto the peoples accounts (as some forget to use the hashtag). You'll stumble into the accounts of those posting more than others. https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/tourdivide2021/https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/tourdivide/

After viewing the pics for a few seconds, log in IS required, so I'll pass. Anyone know the story behind Peter Puenner (NB)? He was shown as Scratched a couple days ago but looks like he back on the route. Crazy how Brendan is able to keep just out of reach of Jay P. The early heat this year must be killer.

Some good racing out there. Brendan and Jay obviously in a shootout for 1 and 2. Good tight race. 3 to 4 to 5 to 6 are all 40miles apart, which could be closed up with a bad day by someone. I'm rooting for Lauren B, she continues to have solid efforts and is sitting in 6th with the next 10 people within 40 miles (including the 2nd place female). That group will be interesting to watch.
Facebook favorite Linda G was in Helena for an extended time yesterday, left late afternoon and made it to the lake south of Helena to camp. Her dots appear to have her at the Helena hospital this morning. I hope all is well with her. The heat we had in Montana on Sat/Sun/Mon were brutal and seems to have hit many of them hard (no idea if that was an impact on her).

Big tailwind thru the Basin for the leaders. Looks to be 20+ mph
And RL way off track between Lima and Idaho. At least 1hr the wrong way (so far), hope he catches the error soon.

Good catch on Robert Lesmerises off course. If he knew and just wanted to get back on course without backtracking, he just missed a couple of 'easy' chances. Hopefully, he knows what he's doing and just wants a tour of Elk Lake. He seems committed to that route. If not, might be time to start worrying about him.

The leaders sure can go many hours with little sleep. I've always admired riders that can do that. JP is definately a machine. Brendan looks to be super strong too. Colorado on deck!

I never understood why so many migrated from here to FB for the race discussion. It started here and I think we should all consider who made these real time race discussions possible and Trackleaders too.
Last year was going to be my year for the full route rather than just a section. I felt super ready to tour it not race but then everything happened. Then I had a major flare up of my MS like condition and I still haven't recovered enough to ride any real mileage. Thus this year is out too. Maybe next year.
It looks like JP made his move accidentally and hopefully not prematurely. Having him lurking behind like a shadow has to be unnerving.

The frontrunners just came through Clark, CO. Brendan Heinig high tailed it after a quick stop at the Clark Store and JayP sat down for a Beer and Pizza. I Just saw Brandon quickly as I happened upon him on the road, I pulled over as soon as I saw him and said a quick "Keep it up!" as he rode by, he replied an energetic thank you and seemed in good spirits. I snapped a very late shot of him making his way down 129 towards the 'boat. Then caught up with JayP at the Clark Store on the deck and had a quick conversation, he says he's feeling great and psyched to just keep riding. Nothing but smiles there.

What are those new icons on Trackleaders I haven't seen before? The legend does not provide info on them
a yellow square with two vertical lines might be a pause icon, but it should show up more often, and I only see it for JP
Why does JP have solid blue track point diamonds?
Jay is possibly the only rider carrying a SPOT Trace device. Those get the blue diamonds and also send a 'pause' message and 'go' message when movement stops or starts. It's also the lightest tracking device out there.

Thank-you for the support. But the real reason to use a forum is just that it keeps everything together and you can actually see things. I don't mind posting some things to the FB but for race discussion still prefer a linear forum like this one. It does seem there isn't much race discussion on the FB group either. I'm rooting for Adam Lisonbee, back for a 3rd attempt I believe and going strong. Plus Linda G who is more interesting to follow than the young bucks at the front, to me. It seems she has had to scratch in Helena though.
