Looks like I am going to restart in Banff as soon as I get my bike fixed.  Front bearing disintegrated, and worse, the harder to find end caps.  Hitchhiked back to Calgary from eureka (canadians super nice) and am hoping to get the parts I need here.

Great photos Angler. Jefe is absolutely pinning it! Being a super experienced outdoorsman, I am sure he knows what he is capable of but I hope he isn't going out too hard.
On another note, Soveiga Saule is almost across the great basin. She seems to be making good time NoBo on her ITT. Can someone point me to where I can find her start date please? I can't seem to find it anywhere.
Cheers

Just about exactly what we expressed to him.  And he admitted he hoped it didn't bite him back down the road.

From the SPOT progress looks like Jefe is walking Huckleberry pass - anyone know snow conditions there? Sure was easier last July !

Go for it el Jefe !

He did the same thing in 2011. Kurt wrote in his blog that he and Ethan figured Jefe would fad as he was riding Single Speed, and pushing too hard... It was Ethan Not Jefe who faded. Only Time will tell.

Anyone having issues using the Blue Dot App? When I pick a certain race, nothing happens?

I had the same issue from my iPad.  Works fine through Safari browser at track leaders.

Wishing I was back out there this year but enjoying watching the spots none the less. Walter Brumniach is a great story. Doing fantastic these first 3 days. Looks like he will set up camp in almost exactly the same spot he did this time last year.

Gimmearaise - I've been having problems too.  Once you pick a new event try reloading the page. Works about half the time for me.

Jefe often *talks* like that, expressing doubts and self-deprecation. His *actions* overpower his voice though, dude has the heart of a lion. Go man go!

That is a bug on some systems. From the main screen, tap "setup" and then tap "change..." to choose a new event.

Cancel that. Bug fixed, it should work fine now. Please let me know if it doesn't!

Have to admit that for a first place rider [compared to previous years of focused "don't bother me" attitudes] he was the most animated, genuinely nice rider who was more than happy to talk to the locals.  We're cheering him on.

TD14: More calls from Andy Amick, Dan Hensley, Hal Russell, and Gary Tucker!

http://mtbcast.com/site2/category/td14/

Don't forget you can get the MTBCast app on Android or iPhone. All calls go to the Racer Calls feature. TD14 calls are for Tour Divide, of course. "TABR14" indicates Trans Am Bike Race.
