So, I snapped my hanger and had to hitch off course to fix. No one on Sunday has it, so hopefully I can fix tomorrow and hitch back to course. I used to carry a hanger, but since I've never broken one, I quit. Oh well, the rest will be nice and maybe it will. Help me make some time on rest of course.

Stephanie Childs and Monique Shurr of TX just surprised me with a visit. Left Ovando around 2 pm. Say the rumors of their demise are greatly exaggerated but they were picked up by US border patrol early in the race with a bit of trouble and hitting the help button on the gps. They are now cutting corners (yup, DNF'd) to make up time but are continuing south as: "our husbands won't pick us up this far north.".
They looked great. In excellent spirits. And were entertaining to talk to. Photo later tonight as my laptop crapped out on me and I dont know how to do it on a tablet.
carry on!

hehe, I'm guessing he does not have enough time... Funny, he does not have to worry turning his light off with the dynamo. Thanks for sharing!

TD14: John Fairbairn called in from Wise River! Big David Wilson called in from Rawlins! And Ryan Lee called in from Wyoming. He’s somewhere beyond the Teton and having issues with his GPS’ power cord. He also sounds rough and has the last few calls. He notes he may not be racing much longer. http://mtbcast.com/site2/category/td14/

Can we make a topic with only importen Info in, so when riders finaly get internet and get inhere dosent need to look through 5 new pages where there might be someting about reroutes or what not
If it already exist, then sorry
I don't think this is the "official" spot for them to find out about reroutes. Steve

Scott Harkins, our first rider from Northern Ireland, has arrived in Ovando. He had a delayed start out of Seeley due to.....ahem.....too many pints last night. Have to appreciate a man enjoying his tdr experience. Has only til July 10 to get as many more miles under him, so wishing him luck.
photo posted tonight.

Boreas Pass is still officially closed, Maybe be open next weekend. Cyclists can of course get around the gates.
I have seen a few people heading north, but none going south. I doubt the Gold Dust Trail will be logical, has been a looong winter.

As promised photos of our 3 cyclists today:
- Stephanie Childs and Monique Tschurr of Texas and - Scott Harkins of Northern Ireland who got two photos cuz I couldn't resist a photo of him cycling into the storm.
We did get two Swedes [a couple] in today who are tenting in town over night but since they weren't race participants didn't want to "waste" space for their photo. But in case anybody was following them they are doing very well thank you!

Unless you know something we don't... He was having a great run too. I'll be intrigued to read the updates on his blog once he has time to decompress. Got to ride down Fleccer Ridge to Wise River last night- was a real hoot! But have to scratch as rear hub bearings and BB 30 bottom bracket are shot
Bike issues plus open wound type saddle sore and all the lost time add up to 'pull plug' decision
Best of luck to all remaining
Will blog up details in a few

Yup I am out. Twas a pretty easy call, a mediocre start/position coupled with BB wobbles and shot rear hub by Wise River topped off with a nasty open wound saddle sore. I fought thru the same saddle sore issue in 2010 but no way was it worth attempting this time around.
Best of luck to all who persevered thru the rain and are still plugging away!
Marshal
