TD14: Kent McDonald called in from Kremling, David Wilson called in from upon Highland Road below Butte, Bill Peschka called in from Steamboat Springs, Max Morris called in from Salida! He’s hoping to get a big mileage day in, Tanner Morgan called in from Togwotee after slogging through mud, Michael Zachary called in from Rawlins, Jean Fankhauser called in from Lima dealing with some mechanicals and mud, and Andy Amick called in from Breckenridge where he had a up-and-close with a mountain lion!

Pardon the newbie question...does anyone know how we (at Ibis) could get a picture of Jefe at or near the finish? A few photographers have sent us photos along the way, they've been great to see and share. I'm hoping there's someone there at the finish, or maybe a few people? I assume it's not quite as popular as the stadium full of people at the finish of Paris Roubaix.
Anyway, if anyone knows how we might procure something, I'd appreciate knowing. askchuck@ibiscycles.com will get our attention.
85 miles to go!

Imagine rolling up on The Schmuck Truck, ShortRibTaco, PulpFusion, Meat the Greek, MeSoHungry, Let'sRollit, LetsBFrank, or the P-nut Butter Bar. The LA list of trucks is mouthwatering!

So, are these purely-at-the-moment-hypothetical taco trucks following the racers? Could you imagine how many tacos that is, consumed per stop? You could work the month of June and a little in July makin' tacos and call 'er good for the rest of the year!  It'll look like the sponsor caravan, before the Tour de France racers get to the town!

I think they could name their price.  All I could think of between Highway 12 and Pie Town was a Sonoran hot dog and a Mexican Coke - think I would've paid $100 for that combo right there - was sooooo hungry !    Wink

Oh, but if only my family would agree to live atop Sheep Creek / Med Lodge Divide for the entire ITT season. We'd do grass-fed lamb gyros and artisinal sheep cheese out of a horse-drawn Basque shepherd wagon. I'd call it GoodForEwe

Surely Ibis has a drone?

Otherwise, hook that Airstream to a taco truck and go meet him.  He's actually got quite a bit more than 85 mi left, so y'all can probably get there in time driving.  Whatever you do, keep it simple (and spell his name right, heh).  Wink  Go JB!

Great idea. Just be sure that taco truck is well stocked. Jefe will eat like a football team for a few days. I've seen it happen, and it is impressive.

Sarah Caylor just left, I am Commercial but not open this year and she did not want to run any risk of breaching the rules. Next stop Hartsel.

She mentioned she did have a hyperthemic experience by the Canadian border, cold in Breck this morning but wind has died down and weather has warmed up nicely.

Hi All,

Thanks to those who offered to contribute to Volume 6 of The Cordillera. I was asked for some more information ...

The Cordillera is a collection of stories about the TDR. If you haven’t read them before you can find the books at:

http://www.lulu.com/shop/search.ep?keyWords=%22The+Cordillera%22&sorter=relevance-desc

All proceeds from The Cordillera go to the college education fund of Linnaea Blumenthal, daughter of Tour Divide Racer Dave Blumenthal who died during the race.

For riders, the 2014 'Gear Survey' is at:

http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/1712910/Cordillera-v6-2014-Tour-Divide-Gear-List

I'd be grateful for contributions by the end of September as I'm on a business trip for October to the Pacific islands which gives me time to work on the book during lonely evenings in hotel rooms  thumbsup

Please do consider contributing. Everything helps. And if anyone wants to help with the editing please let me know! I can be contacted at chris [at] lpcb.org.

TD14: Jason Snell called in out in the basin above Rawlins. Very windy but there are some clear moments in the call. Like using the women's bathroom and not realizing someone was in there, apparently.

Chris or anyone in the know,
Is there a mechanism  to donate directly to Linnaea's college fund? Please advise.
