Looks like Rocket John is out, again anyone here what happened? I was happy to see him using his Quest as this is his daily ride so he should be more comfortable on it than last years ER GRR. Though I am not surprised to see him DNF, Johns a great guy and was pretty darn fast in years gone bye; but he has got several years on me and I have body pains so I would expect him to have some as well.
if anyone knows what happened let me know.
Oh yeah sorry I don't get on here much anymore I am the sole full time 24/7 caregiver for my mother with ALZ, so unless she goes with me I don't get out of the house much. She does have a new trike and can ride about 14 miles 22 on a good day, but she doesn't have much strength so she is dog slow top speed around 6 mph.

What is interesting at the moment is Evan, Adrian, Carlos and Kim keep leap-frogging each other as their independent ride/sleep patterns are so out of sync. This will become very important for timing when they get to the last 24-48 hours. Evan tends to lead but the others catch up while he sleeps, it may mean Evan has to put in a huge last day after his penultimate rest to ensure he can finish without them leapfrogging him before the Yorktown finish line.

24 hours ago, Kim Raeymaekers and Evan Deutsch finished 2nd and 3th after about 20d8h. Their SPOT tracks don't reveal whether they made a final sprint for second place. Their markers almost coincided for the last few days, so I think it would be by an imperceptible margin. Adrian O Sullivan has also finished today. See www.instagram.com/dexterskidmore/ for pictures.

More from Jason: "Hit by 16 yr old in big SUV. She passed test yesterday. Had writing all over her windows n couldn't see outside . She turned into a junction I was crossing at high speed. Continued to turn after she hit me. I've got ice on ankle now. Determined this isn't stopping me."

He seems determined to: "I'm ok. I'm at the eagles bar I'm Chester Illinois tonight. Got it on ice and bought a support and anti inflation stuff. Gonna ride a high cadence tomorrow."

Purely out of interest, I was wondering why the Tour Divide thread managed to generate 88 pages compared with 4 for the Trans Am!
Is it because TD is more established or is there simply more interest in off road stuff on this site?

Sure, bikepacking is about mountain biking. The TransAm race is on pavement. TA race winners so far are great on both surfaces. I hope Kristof Allegaert from Belgium will participate next year and show his mettle.
