Not sure where the discussion is taking place. Here or facebook.

Secondly trans am is pretty spread out. I started following after an hour. Was it a staggered start or did some have problems at the start.

Cheers.

Indeed the field is already spread out and last time I looked Mike Halls spot was WAY back! The intrigue starts early with this race

Yeah. He usually charges from the blocks. Everybody's watching him. And he knows it.

I think this is going to be a good watch over the next few days!

Absolutely.  Decent bloke by all accounts.

Must remind my self its over 4k miles. No point looking at trackleaders every hour!

Mike Hall is likely at the front somewhere... he is not tracking well (check timestamps).

Julianna's second wrong turn... Billy Rice mentions the GPX file is not good.  Not sure if that's playing into it...

A few of the Spot's are not tracking too well, poor Jason Stephens is about 8km off shore...

I checked very early this am and saw Mike Hall listed as ITT so figured he had something going on, maybe he rushed to get to the start without fully resolving?  Who knows... will have to wait for a call-in Smiley  Can't wait to see the sleep strategy early on.

I'm a bit out of the loop, so aside from Mike who else are "front runners"?

He's had a couple of flats.

Thanks Joe.  Good to hear he's still top 5 even with the early difficulties.  Hard to guess where he is when the tracker is a cpl hours off.

Interesting to see the almost even split between people taking the conventional route and the santiam alternate after mackenzie pass.

Anyone know much about the tradeoffs between the two?

Seems some have spot problems. Jason is leading mike by about 18 miles. But mike last tracked 1hour 55 ago.

Donccha has just been mentioned on one of the talk sports radio programmes in Ireland. People are phoning in saying that they don't believe a 4400 mile race exist. They think the radio presenter is having a joke with the audience. (He has done about 375miles as I post this). The listeners find it mind boggling that people such as Donccha do these events/races. They are now talking about how People in parts of ireland would consider a 60 mile car journey as a long journeyetc etc. Very entertaining!
