Is there a plan to get back to the start from the end?

The race is this weekend. Looks like a solid turnout for the first year! And a non-convoluted race routing. I like it. http://trackleaders.com/transnorcal14

Looking forward to another adventure. Also, it's great to have a Bikepacking race starting 20 minutes from my house!

Not sure what happened. It looks like Blake wasn't able to complete the course and needed to take roads to the finish (bike problem?). Also no points for Kurt for 11 hours before his dot showed up at the finish (maybe Spot issues?). Did either of these guys finish the course?

I missed the last 25 miles or so. I came upon a closed gate. I was told not go through any closed gates in that area, so I turned around and took an alternate route to Mendocino. Kurt finished the entire route. I think he finished at around 49 hours.

Dan and Doug put together a great route! I highly recommend riding the Trans North Califoria as a race or a tour. I hope to have another opportunity to ride the route again. There's plenty of info on the Facebook page as well.

Probably a wise choice. I have family that lived in that area for a few years. They always said you need to be extremely careful where you venture off highway in the forests. The local "farmers" are everywhere and they tend to be very protective of their crops.

I don't know what the question is - but the answer is: Lubrication!

Blake - thanks for the info. It sounds like a good route and it looked like you were real strong (again)! Nice job... I'll check out the FB page for sure.

This route was AWESOME! I cannot wait to get back with a mountain bike, I should be able to shave off a buttload of time with a smarter bike.

I can't find a GPX file for this race online. Anyone have one to share?

I finished the 2013 TD. I did the whole damn thing, excluding the 2013 detours, in good style and—as far as I know—totally in accordance with the rules.
